Painted Floral Chest of Drawers Pink Cream Large
Antique veneer Bow-fronted chest of drawers. Very large!

Painted in thick layers of Annie Sloan chalk paint (I always sand items prior to painting to ensure the paint adheres nicely.) This features antique images taken from Victorian seed packets and postcards, curated and copied by myself in fade resistant ink. All applied, using the decoupage technique in a collage. I have then painted across this in textured, thick layers. The text reads in the colour of the undercoat. I aim to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece.
The paint finish has been HEAVILY distressed, back to wood in some places and to reveal the different shade of the paint layers. Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
This is an Antique lady who has enjoyed a full life. She is a refurbished piece and though sturdy and sound, may have life marks, dinks, knocks etc particularly in the veneer. The drawers slide smoothly. No woodworm. The insides are good and clean, no odour and have been painted in pale, dove grey. They had originally been lined with paper that had been glued in so the interior surface is a little lumpy and bumpy.
